Notes by Ray Floate:
- The Class of 1933 was the first at Hartford High to wear caps and
gowns.
- Nine rural class members received blank diplomas at the time of graduation.
President Roosevelt had declared the famous Bank Holiday, freezing all bank
accounts. Rural school tuition funds were frozen and the Village School
Board opted to deny diplomas without tuition. Somewhat later, diplomas
were issued and the bank funds released.
