Adorned in the splendor of fall beauty, the Thomas Mansion is a welcoming site on your return home for a virtual visit to Hartford, Michigan.  Anyone who ever lived in or passed through our rural community quickly recognizes the mansion as it greets homefolk and visitors to Hartford.  Modern day Chicago-to-Detroit travelers catch a glimpse of the mansion's majestic beauty as they pass by on a busy I-94 highway about 1/2 mile away.  Construction on the 20-room mansion started in 1936 and was completed in 1936.  A remarkable focal point of our heritage for generations, the mansion remains an awesome portrait in the history of Hartford.
